Will identify and monitor cases persons to ensure timely and effective release from custody. Develop and communicate with other system stakeholders the important information and recommendations for consideration used in determining if someone should be released from jail. Once ordered, ensure timely release from custody. Develop listings and other information about local resources available to assist people in the jail including but not limited to, treatment providers, housing programs, and governmental agencies. Keep program records and assist in analyzing the data to determine the effectiveness of the overall process.Work is performed under the direction of the Classification Supervisor. Performance is evaluated through observation, results obtained, oral/written reports, and appropriate employee performance appraisals.Examples of DutiesManage the jail population by identifying and monitoring cases for release from the jail to the community or to intervention/diversion programs and help facilitate/coordinate information between inmates and the courts, the jail, and/or other related agenciesIdentify and facilitate court processes to ensure timely release from the jail to treatment/rehabilitation centers and/or the communityIdentify, monitor, and facilitate identified populations to ensure movement of cases in the court system for, but not limited to, misdemeanors, certain felonies, probationers, and the mentally illCollect necessary data and submit monthly reportsScreen and assess homeless and Veteran populations for appropriate release optionsAdvise courts of recommended release of inmatesCollaborate with community stakeholders to coordinate release options and resourcesMonitor and facilitate cases/referrals to the Division V Forensic CourtAssist the bureau in jail population management through, but not limited to, managing housing areas, caseloads, assignments, referring/recruitment to inmate programs, and acting as court liaison*This section of the job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties and/or responsibilities of the position.
