Location: Delhi, NY Category: Staff Posted On: Thu Sep 26 2024 Job Description:Janitors perform a variety of routine manual tasks that require light, medium, and heavy physical effort in the cleaning and caring for an assigned area on campus that includes academic and office buildings, athletic facilities, a student and community center, student residence halls, a health center, and the adjacent grounds and sidewalks of various buildings.Janitors work independently, and as part of a work team, performing a wide range of specialized and routine cleaning of floors, windows, trash and recycling removal, and walls. Work requires cleaning specialized areas within buildings such as; office spaces, kitchens, common areas, lounges, laundry rooms, locker rooms, bathrooms, classrooms, and laboratories.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Using small hand tools to perform minor repairs.Performing a variety of custodial tasks including maintenance and repair work requiring basic maintenance abilities.Removing snow and ice, plus salting entranceways and walkwaysOverseeing and training cleaners.Receiving and responding to emails, and utilizing the SUNY Portal for Time and Attendance Record keeping.Job Requirements:Must be able to physically perform the tasks of the positionMust be able to communicate effectively to obtain and convey informationMust have a valid NYS Drivers LicenseAdditional Information:Additional Information:Full-Time, 40 hrs/wk - First Shift, Monday-FridayStatus: ProbationaryClass: CSEA, Operational Services UnitSalary: $37,172 - Salary Grade 7Reports to: Custodial Operations ManagerSUNY Delhi has a strong commitment to Affirmative Action and Cultural Diversity.
