You will support providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) and limited non-A&AS support and expertise to assist the Standoff Munitions Application Center (SMAC) component of Joint-Global Strike Operations Center (J-GSOC) forces at Barksdale AFB, LA, along with other areas/locations CONUS and OCONUS, including deployed locations. In this role, you will:
- Work Ticket Management - Review and monitor SMAC ticket tracker from the customer and assigns to either CSTs or JMPS technicians. This also includes taking information directly from the customer, either over the phone/email or in-person and inputting it into a ticket.
- Ensure work priorities align with mission objectives and availability
- Ensure the issues were fixed completely and the technician has documented the fix actions using the SMAC Ticket Tracker
- Report ticket numbers to the government and highlight any areas that may be of future concern on a weekly schedule
- Manage SMAC Video Display System (VDS). Configures existing system to provide display functionality for the allocated number of users depending on system capability. Provide necessary guidance and inputs when the government may upgrade for future capability.
- Test and evaluate current and proposed equipment and software enhancement and advises management regarding acquisition proposals designed to enhance mission accomplishment through automation
- Provide SME support/training of SMAC VDS operational procedures for government and contract customers
- Update and maintain system drawings. Ensure VDS layout drawings are incorporated into each location's TEMPEST drawing for all SMAC locations
- Research, recommend, obtain, install, and maintain hardware and software as specified by the Government. Provide all price quotes and timeframe to government reps
- Work with management to isolate and correct complex problems which hinder the capability of the organization to fully utilize the SMAC VDS
- Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes
- Datalink Maintenance - Work with Joint Interference Control Officers (JICO) to help develop plans, architecture, and tests to ensure current and future standoff weapon datalink communications are being met to include SATCOM BLOS (Beyond-Line-of-Sight) capabilities and Radio Frequencies Operations
- Other duties as assigned
What experience, training, and education do I need?You must meet the minimum requirements:
- EITHER Bachelor's Degree (preferred), or eight (8) years of relevant military communications experience
- Two (2) years of relevant experience with configuring, installing, operating and troubleshooting Video Distribution Systems. Be able to work with multiple vendor solutions to provide the best product to the customer.
- Demonstrated experience with Work Ticket Management and assigning work tickets to the appropriate work centers
- Demonstrated experience with or operational knowledge of systems integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and methods and project management principles and methods sufficient to plan and coordinate the installation of new products and equipment
- One (1) year of relevant experience with executing Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes as a primary duty or task and demonstrated knowledge of processes within the RMF
- Demonstrated proficiency in executing Transient Electromagnetic Pulse Emanation Surveillance Technology (TEMPEST) certifications and understanding of TEMPEST restrictions within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Special Access Program Facility (SAPF)
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining real-time common operating air picture using the Gateway (ADSI, JRE, GM)
- Demonstrated relevant experience managing Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS)/SATCOM capabilities
- Demonstrated experience utilizing radio frequency operations; use of Harris family of radios such as PRC-117, PRC-158 or PSC 5 is preferred
- Completion of the following AFSC or sister service equivalent course: 3D1X3, 25X, 1D7XX, etc.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
