  • 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 2:45 PM - 10:45 PM + $1.10 shift differential
  • 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday 10:45 PM - 6:45 AM + $1.00 shift differential
VACATION CREDIT: Your years of service as a Journeyperson, upon verification, will count towards vacation accrual. The Journeyman Electrician performs all types of electrical work required to keep the plant running at a maximum efficiency. The Electrician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. Duties:
  • Demonstrates a commitment to working safely in all areas of the mill
  • Works with or assists other trades, engineering, production and other technical resources (internal and external to Masonite) to minimize down time and optimize the mill efficiency
  • Working with Preventive Maintenance Programs to submit work orders
  • Work with the Planner/Scheduler to estimate and order parts
  • Communicate to production personnel about equipment problems that require repairs, down time estimates or corrective actions
  • Work safely in a mill environment and use PPE/Safe work practices
  • Be able to troubleshoot, identify failed components, repair and calibrate electrical process equipment
  • Preform preventative maintenance functions in order to improve and maintain machine performance
  • Document modifications and repairs made to equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
Qualifications/Skills
  • Must have State of Wisconsin Journeyman Electrician accreditation
  • Dependable and responsible
  • Positive work attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical testing equipment and tools
  • Familiar with NEC, NFPA-70E and safe work practices
  • Ability to read, interpret and update electrical prints/documents
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • Mechanical concepts
  • PLC systems Examples: Rockwell software-RS Logics 5000/500/5, RS Links, Drive executive or comparable experience
Physical Requirements
  • Lift 1-30# frequently (up to 50% in an 8 hour day)
  • Lift 30-60# regularly (up to 30% in an 8 hour day)
  • Lift 60+# occasionally (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Push/Pull 100# with assistance seldom (up to 13% in an 8 hour day)
  • Kneel occasionally (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Squat occasionally (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Stoop frequently (up to 25% in an 8 hour day)
  • Work with extended arms seldom (up to 13% in an 8 hour day)
  • Stand in one spot for long periods
  • Climb and use ladders, carry, or maneuver 50+ pounds
  • Have manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination
