Jr. Accountant Monsey, NY$100,000 - $120,000As the Jr. Accountant supporting our Leasing and Construction department, you will play a critical role in managing financial transactions, maintaining relationships with customers and vendors, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes. You will report to our CFO and will participate in the full suite of accounting activities as it relates to our leasing business by liaising with sales, the project team, operations, and our customers. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This is a versatile, dynamic, and exciting role supporting the financial health and contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.Responsibilities:Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate and send customer invoices, track payments, and manage collections.
Financial Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Record financial transactions, including income, expenses, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports for management review.
Bank Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Provide financial information to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Maintains historical records by ensuring documents are filed and stored appropriately.
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Adhere to month end close process as instructed by CFO.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and support decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing inquiries or concerns related to financial matters.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a bookkeeping or finance/accounting assistant role in a fast-paced and dynamic organization.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Excellent computer skills required; Proficient in financial and accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Data entry skills with an affinity for numbers, math, and finance/accounting.
  • Strong customer service focus and the ability the build strong relationships on the team and outside the team with vendors, consultants, and customers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to problem solve and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and results-oriented approach; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Ability to work successfully independently and collaboratively.
