Jr. Construction Estimator - Laney Companies : Job Details

JR. CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATORM.T. Laney Co. Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an entry-level and highly motivated Jr. Construction Estimator to join our team based in Eldersburg, MD. The Jr. Estimator will assist and support our lead Estimators in preparing bids.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Read plans and prepare quantity takeoffs
• Ability to prepare proposals and change orders and send them to clients
• Able to solicit material and Subcontractor quotes
• Prepare Quantity take-offs
• Good Communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to work with others, possess excellent customer service skills, and liaise efficiently with clients, contractors, and management
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Must be proficient in mathematics
• Ability to plan, organize, and work assignments as well as other tasks as required by the Senior Estimators
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Valid Driver's license with a good driving record
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

SALARY/HOURLY EXEMPTION:

• Full-Time
• Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education

WORKING CONDITIONS:Office Environment and occasional travelPHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
• Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
• Talk and hear
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds on occasions

EDUCATION:

• High School Education preferred

NON-ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of MS Project a plus but not required
• Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid is a plus but not required

EXPERIENCE:

• Construction Estimating 1+ year preferred but not required
