Summary:

The Junior Accountant will provide support to department activities with specific responsibility for accounting functions requiring application of the principles of accounting involving development construction and grant draws, accounts payable and general administrative duties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Assembling invoices and reviewing for authorization and GL account coding

* Update draw spreadsheet for current draw invoices

* Prepare draw request forms as required

* Review budget balances for overruns

* Balance monthly spreadsheets required for submission with the general ledger

* Balance Accounts Receivable advances with the General Ledgers

* Submit to Accounts payable approved payments

* Responsible for verifying grant(s)/ draw(s) and spreadsheets for submission to the Department of Housing.

* Update accounting subsidiary spreadsheets for grant tracking

* Verify Department of Housing spreadsheets, including accuracy of draws

* Assist with preparation of audits for external and internal auditors

* Supports other team members as needed

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's in Accounting, Business or related degree required

* Must be highly detail oriented and organized

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

* Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

* Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office application; especially Excel

* Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance creativity, problem solving, and results

* Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
