We are looking for a Junior Ag & Commercial Lender to join our team in our Allamakee county trade areas. The ideal candidate will have the ability to represent the bank in a positive manner in the community, as well as the ability to market a variety of loan products such as agriculture, commercial, installment and/or mortgage loans. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop favorable credit relations with loan customers and promote other banking services.
- Coordinate the entire lending process from taking an application, approval, or denial, developing and maintain proper documentation; and securing and closing the loan all in accordance with the bank's loan policies and regulatory guidance.
- Prepare commitment letters.
- Make customer contacts, if necessary, for loan collection. Work out solutions in the best interest of the bank for problem loans including past due and non-performing loans.
- Stay current with new laws, regulations and regulatory guidance that influence lending within the financial institution and make recommendations to management when necessary.
- Be familiar with and operate within the guidance of the banks loan policy and procedures and will also comply with all other bank policies, including BSA, Compliance, and CIP.
- As a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) employed by FreedomBank, you will register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry and will maintain and renew your registration in the system annually during the renewal period. Only registered individuals are permitted to provide services of an MLO. Employees are required to familiarize themselves with FreedomBank's Safe Act Policy and procedures.
- Operate within secured and unsecured personal lending limits as set in the FreedomBank Loan Policy.
- Develop new customer prospects and business for the financial institution.
- Maintain and enhance information based on local and national economics, as well as other concerns that would impact the financial institutions lending activities.
- Provide assistance and recommends training for new loan officers.
- Participate in training and meetings.
- Attend Lending Compliance Committee meetings.
- Represents the institution to the public; market the institutions loan products - installment, mortgage, and/or agriculture/commercial loans.
- Follow-up with applicants and secure the necessary information to underwrite the loan, conduct site visits if needed. Provide assistance to help potential borrowers successfully qualify for financing.
- Work cooperatively and constructively with a wide variety of people, cross-functional teams, community-based organizations, banks, and lawyers.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent math skills
- Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity
- Thorough understanding of customer service.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working directly with the public is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at a time.
- May need to sit or stand for long periods of time.
