American Custom Drying is a leading contract manufacturer specializing in spray drying and ingredient processing solutions. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to support our Finance and Operations teams with achieving profitability targets.

Position Overview:

The Junior Financial Analyst – Cost Analysis will focus on analyzing production costs, tracking variances, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. This role will work closely with the Financial Controller and Operations Team to ensure accurate cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting to improve efficiency and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed cost analysis on production processes, raw materials, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Assist in preparing cost variance reports, identifying discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Track and analyze cost drivers impacting profitability and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting with a focus on cost-related KPIs.
  • Maintain and update cost models for pricing strategies and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting by analyzing historical cost trends and future projections.
  • Work with Operations and Procurement teams to assess cost impacts of production changes or material price fluctuations.
  • Provide support for ad hoc cost-related projects and financial modeling as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, cost analysis, or accounting (internships included).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data visualization) and financial modeling.
  • Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to present cost findings effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing or production-focused environment.
