a rapidly growing small company in Huntsville, AL, is currently seeking a detail-oriented Junior Link 16 Test Engineer to support the U.S. Army's Network Design Facility (ANDF). The successful candidate will work in a lab environment and be responsible for executing system testing on existing tactical data link hardware as well as new hardware being considered for fielding. These systems are the tactical data link components for Army tactical C2 systems used in joint and multinational operations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, revise, and execute test cases, to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements
- Use critical thinking to evaluate Problem Reports to determine impact to the Army
- Document and submit test case execution findings/issues to Senior Testers or Test Lead
- Validate existing interface system requirements supporting our host platforms through interoperability testing
- Test and validate emerging system interface capabilities for follow-on data link radios
- Support the development and validation for test cases to be used for interoperability testing
- Develop test procedures and metrics for higher-level acceptance testing
- Assess new hardware and software builds for future integration
Qualifications - External
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. HS diploma and 6+ years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to identify problems, determine the cause, and implement solutions
- Working knowledge of data capture and packet analyzing software (for example – Wireshark) to perform tests and troubleshoot issues during testing
- Ability to both research and then perform testing for radio functionality
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to present clear reports and test findings to others on the engineering team
- Ability to test new radio software releases to validate fixed issues and/or identify deviations
- Candidate must be a self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with radio frequency spectrum tools and analysis
- Knowledge with Army and NATO Tactical Data Link Standards
- Experience developing and executing interface test cases within a formal test environment
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting software and hardware within a simulation environment
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Must have an ACTIVE SECRET security clearance
