Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Merchandise Planner in the Swim Department at Amerex Group LLC in New York, NY. The Junior Merchandise Planner will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules, developing production plans, utilizing analytical skills to forecast trends and demands, and effective communication with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Formulate business strategies using historical and current trend analysis.
  • Aggressively attack any potential inventory liabilities and/or opportunities with appropriate corrective action plans.
  • Own chargeback and markdown processes from quarterly projections, reviewing all requests for accuracy, and communicating information with sales team and finance.
  • Review and re-project ladder plans by style on a weekly basis.
  • Identify sales and profit opportunities / liabilities and make recommendations to department.
  • Present designers with sales and trend analysis to assist in product development.
  • Create production plans by volume group and current POS performance at the style/color/size level.
  • Develop strategic unit/financial assortment plans by style and customer.
  • In season weekly sales/inventory analysis and re-forecasting at the sku level to determine necessary production adjustments to maximize sales and minimize mark-downs.
  • Run and analyze weekly sales and inventory reports.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • 3-4 years of experience with retail planning or merchandise planning
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field
  • Experience with the following a plus: Retail Link, NuOrder, SKYIT.
  • Advanced Excel skills
