This is a role with significant upward career mobility, and opportunities to work on small and large-scale industrial utility projects nationally. We're looking for individuals who want to progress as Electrical Engineers in the water industry, and who want to actively pursue their PE and advance in their concept, planning and design for industrial electrical systems. The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and communications, to support projects for the Infrastructure Design Services Group in the Water Business Line.Role accountabilities:Support Senior Electrical engineers on large-scale projects in project planning, design and design services during construction for water/wastewater facilities and other similar industrial facilities.For smaller projects, lead Electrical design efforts under the supervision of a Senior Electrical engineer.Develop project management skills including support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget.Electrical design and coordination of various projects with an emphasis on power distribution, lighting, communications, fire alarm systems, and motor controls for new water/wastewater, and industrial projects.Assist in preparing budgets for planning/design.Utilize CAD Programs proficiently (Autodesk Products, etc.) to execute design work.Establish design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications, under the supervision of Senior Electrical Engineer(s).Performing engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI's (request for information), under the supervision of Senior Electrical Engineer(s).Conducting field inspections, assisting projects in construction which includes identifying deviations from design, and monitoring safety compliance.Performing system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools or other power systems analysis software, under the supervision of Senior Electrical Engineer(s).Some travel may be required to support project needs.Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline or equivalent work experience.3 years' relevant experience in Electrical Engineering design.EIT certification and working towards a PE.Experience in Autodesk Revit or equivalent CAD program.Key Skills and Attributes:Progressing working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable codes.Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget.Ability to assist in client meetings under the supervision of Senior engineers or Project Managers.Ability to prepare and deliver presentations explaining your design to others.Ability to balance multiple assignments and activities to meet project deadlines.Ability to accept feedback and look for ways to continuously improve work process, and technical skills.Excellent, clear and concise, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Continue your career journey as an Arcadian.We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
