Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Englewood, Colorado 80112 (onsite 4 days per week)

Contract: 3-6 Month Contract-to-Hire

Pay: $30-32/hr

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. We work on a large-scale data platform that processes just under 1 trillion events per day. At peak, we handle approximately 15 million events per second. We support most teams across the video organization and are continuing to expand. Our platform enables users to access their data in real-time without query or ingest lag.

As an engineer on our team, you will get the opportunity to work on a high-priority project that uses groundbreaking technology. We believe in looking for the next best thing and will never shy away from rearchitecting if a better solution or technology is presented and proven. Using the tenets of DevOps, you will have the opportunity to own the entire stack, from architecture to production.

No day looks the same for an engineer on our team. You will have to chance to create a direct impact and work on projects related to:

  • Scaling our platform without losing performance and reliability
  • Utilizing machine learning to gain further insight from our data
  • Optimizing data ingest pipelines
  • Engineering internal tools to simplify and automate deployments
  • Supporting customers who depend on our systems

Who are we looking to hire?

A junior-level engineer who demonstrates a clear passion for technology and an eagerness to continue learning and building large, distributed systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a good communicator, and is excited by new challenges and the opportunity to grow.

General Responsibilities:

  • Build and help maintain a large ClickHouse database to enable faster growth and platform scalability
  • Develop internal tools to help automate and manage our system
  • Optimize data ingest, filtering and improvement
  • Support machine learning and data science principles to gain valuable insight from our data
  • Onboard new teams to our platform
  • Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to create, monitor, and enforce SLOs and SLIs
  • Troubleshoot and remediate application outages
  • Be involved in on-call duties as necessary

Syndication Partner Specific Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and manage Grafana instance
  • Incorporate SSO into Grafana login
  • Create aggregate materialized views/tables to support analytics needs
  • Alter tables as necessary
  • Troubleshoot queries for individual users
  • Research data discrepancies
  • Onboard new CDN data sources
  • Manage Rogers Clickhouse Database
  • Manage Rogers Kafka Topics/ACLs/Client certs
  • Build, maintain, and monitor Grafana dashboards

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership.
  • Good communicator; able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies understandably and engagingly.
