Part-Time Kennel Attendant All-Pets Hospital Des Moines, IowaPosition: The part-time Kennel Attendant position is a key role for our kennel that provides daily care for our boarded animals and assist with facility maintenance. The position involves cleaning, bathing, grooming, exercising, and feeding our boarded animals. The Attendant is also responsible for cleaning cages, administering medication, and monitoring the behavior of our boarded animals. The role interacts with the clinical team, clients, and supports our customer focused environment.If you are looking to gain experience in the pet care industry, this is an excellent opportunity to learn - we are willing to cross train into the Veterinary Assistant role if a team member shows they are interested and ready.Job Responsibilities:

• Daily care for boarded animals
• Bathing, grooming, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring behavior
• Assist with facility maintenance and cleaning
• Helping the hospital team have a clean environment
• Reporting changes in animal behavior, health or concerns to Vet or Hospital Manager
• Maintaining animal records, such as weight, physical condition, treatments received, medications given, and food intake and other potential data as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Doctor/Hospital Manager
• Washing, drying, and folding laundry
• Must be able to lift 50lbs or more, stoop, bend and stand on feet for long periods.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Previous experience with animals preferred
• Customer service attitude
• Organizational skills
• Team oriented, enjoys working as part of team
• Solid communication skills

Shifts:

• This position is expected to regularly provide 10-15 hours a week.
• Regular shifts would be 4-6 PM on weekdays (open to discussion on specific start and end time, but animals need fed and taken out at approximately 5 PM)
• We need the most help in the afternoons, but are open to help in the early morning as well.
• Weekend help is not needed at this time.
