Kindergarten Teacher - Pittsfield Public Schools : Job Details

The teacher is the district's primary agent for instruction with responsibility for presenting the prescribed curriculum effectively and employing a diagnostic/prescriptive approach to identification and subsequent adaptation to the needs and interests of the students.The duties commonly associated with the position include but are not limited to:- maintaining up-to-date knowledge of curriculum content- planning and assessment of instruction and curriculum- maintaining classroom management- planning and delivering effective instruction- promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement- communicating with students, parents, and other district employees to work on behalf of students- promoting equity and appreciation of diversityJob RequirementsBachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.MA DESE Certification Elementary 1-6.Experience teaching early education students; experience teaching foundational math and reading skills.Strong classroom management skills; ability to promote and foster active engagement with all students; ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues; committed to providing a safe learning environment; ability to use data to plan for, assess and modify instruction.
