DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor, the Kitchen Lead assists in creating a culture of excellence, learning, coaching and teamwork in any Bay Mills Resort & Casinos kitchen.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides exemplary customer service by Exceeding Expectations One Opportunity at a Time .2. Authorized to supervise kitchen activities to ensure safety and high standards in the absence of Kitchen Supervisor. 3. Confers with kitchen supervision to initiate remedial coaching or corrective action.4. Cooks foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.5. Supervises cook and tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.6. Responsible for reporting to work on time in proper uniform while maintaining proper appearance to proudly represent Bay Mills Resort & Casinos.7. Performs opening and closing checklist duties. 8. Plans or participates in planning menus, preparing, apportioning foods, and utilizing food surpluses and leftovers.9. Ensures the productive effort of staff through active participation in duties, oversight and motivational effort, corrective counseling and post shift meetings.10. Monitors, maintains and delegates prep lists to ensure adequate supplies are in place prior to service.11. Ensures the cleanliness, efficiency, and the highest quality of customer service is provided.12. Supervises stewards to ensure cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.13. Responsible for learning and following daily policies and procedures for the F&B Department and Bay Mills Resort & Casinos.14. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated by the Human Resources Department and/or Department15. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position's essential functions.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must bend, squat, climb, crouch, kneel, and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds while frequently lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to dust and cold when working in the freezer and coolers. The employee is regularly exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidity and moving machinery, moderate noise, heat, cold, smoke and hot surfaces involved in cooking food, grease and dirty surfaces, use of caustic chemicals. The employee may experience cuts, burns, sprains and strains.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.2. Must have one-year experience in a high volume restaurant.3. One-year supervisory experience strongly desired4. Must possess a personable, customer service attitude along with organizational ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.5. Excellent communication skills required.6. Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance7. Must be able to read, speak, understand and write in the English language.8. The desire to learn and lead by example towards the same common goal, which is complete guest satisfaction.9. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.10. Must have an excellent past work record, including attendance.RequirementsWORK SCHEDULE:Full-time; 52 weeks per year.
