Objective

As a Sagaponack General Store Porter, you are responsible for creating a clean and comfortable atmosphere in our shop for our team and customers. This position is a very good starting point for someone who is interested in developing further opportunities with our company.

Essential Functions

• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the shop
• Keeping kitchen machinery and equipment clean and appropriately sanitized
• Managing the waste: Compost, Recycling, and Trash
• Breaking down boxes and tying cardboard neatly for recycling
• Keeping the shop floors clean and safe for your team and customers
• Correctly washing, drying, and storing all shop equipment and smallwares
• Organizing and managing the inventory of all cleaning supplies

Preferred Experience and Character:

• Dependability in coming to work on time
• Knowledge of cleanliness, food safety & handling requirements is a bonus
• Comfortable cleaning knives and meat cutting equipment
• Professional and respectful character who works well with a team
• Honesty, respectfulness, courtesy in how you work with others
• Ability to read, write, and understand some English
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and spend 8+ hours standing
• Can work afternoons and weekends
