Job Summary:

Crosby is looking for a Maintenance Helper to help keep the plant's equipment in good operating condition and provide mechanical support in other areas.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential):

* Assist the Maintenance Team with repairs and maintaining machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing plant, according to standards.*

* Assist the Maintenance Team perform ongoing preventive repairs and respond to work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and other components.*

* Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant.*

* Keeps shop/entire yard and maintenance area clean and within OSHA requirements.

* Complete all required reports and paperwork accurately and on time.*

* Maintain a neat and clean appearance; wear proper uniform if required.*

* Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment.*

* Responsible to communicate with employees and management as to potential problems that need addressing or opportunities that may be acted upon.*

* Uses critical thinking skills to determine possible causes of equipment failures.*

* Perform additional duties as assigned.*

Education Requirements:

* High school diploma or GED required

* Technical Certification a plus

Job Specifications (Work Experience, Skills, Abilities, etc.):

* Ability to pass a fit for duty test

* Ability to work at elevated heights

* Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, sketches, etc.

* Ability to effectively communicate well with others (orally and written)

* Ability to climb ladders, stairways, enter and maneuver through vessels and structural work

Physical / Environmental Conditions:

Normal office conditions. The Plant's Building is two-story. Job demands may require long periods of sitting as well as interaction with other people. Normal office conditions include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, driving and/or traveling.

Moderate exposure to shop conditions, which are variable depending on the task assigned, but are generally dirty. Is subject to shop noise. Involves extensive standing and walking. Skin and eyes are subject to drying and irritating fumes, vapors and solutions controlled to OSHA standards. Works both in and out of doors, normally indoors, with sometimes dusty or confining work areas when in the shop/lab.
