Job Title: Lab Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Micro department. This role involves working with human samples, primarily urine, using various laboratory techniques to support our diagnostic processes.
Responsibilities
* Plate urine cultures
* Swab urine samples
* Scan samples into SRS for internal tracking
* Work with stool, urine, blood, and swabs or cultures
* Verify patient ID numbers
* Smear swabs onto plates using the streaking technique
* Incubate samples
Essential Skills
* Sample preparation
* Laboratory experience
* Data entry
* Comfortable working with human samples
* Reliability and punctuality
* Ability to work with urgency
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED
* Previous overnight experience
* Previous lab experience is preferred
Work Environment
This is a 3-month contract position with the possibility of working either day or night shifts. Day shifts are from Tuesday to Saturday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM or 6 AM to 2:30 PM. The night shift is from Tuesday to Saturday, 12 PM to 8:30 AM. The role involves working in the Micro department, which may have an odor due to handling urine samples. You will be part of a team of 5-6 individuals, primarily sitting on a bar stool for the entirety of the shift.
