Job Description Peterson Cat has a need for a Lab Assistant at our Eugene, OR location. SUMMARY This position is responsible for the cleaning and general upkeep of the lab premises. Duties will also include assisting lab supervisor and technicians with daily tasks as needed. • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
• Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.
• Clean computers, countertops, windows, floors, sink glass ware, work areas and dump or fill all fluids and waste oils when needed.
• Assist in performing chemical and physical tests on samples as assigned.
  • Process samples in a timely manner.
• Assist in entering data as directed and keep database files updated.
• Use appropriate equipment to assist running the following tests:
  • Particle count
  • Viscometer
• Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year of experience preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
