JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.

* Use a variety of lab equipment to conduct testing of production samples.

* Understand and follow procedures for proper calibration, verification and use of lab equipment and instruments.

* Accurately document and timely report test results; maintain manual and computer records associated with testing.

* Properly dispose of samples and supplies.

* Apply all methods, systems and conduct all tasks in such a way that they are conforming to ISO-9001 method.

* Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment.

* Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.

* Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.

* Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.

* Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

* Efficiently and accurately multiply, divide, add, and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems.

* Wear required PPE (personal protective equipment).

* Strong record-keeping skills and exceptional attention to detail.

* Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as directed.

* Demonstrate basic computer skills.

* Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs.

* Recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution of those problems.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

* High school diploma or GED, or any satisfactory combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.

* Laboratory experience highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Remain in a stationary position while performing laboratory tests, calibrating equipment, filing certificates of analysis, and performing data entry duties.

* Use manual dexterity while performing laboratory tests, calibrating equipment, and entering test results.

* Transport products and materials weighing up to fifty (40) pounds, with or without assistance, when getting samples.

* Position oneself to access lower levels of storage shelves.

* Reach overhead to access upper levels of storage shelves.

* Ascend/descend ladders/stairs to access mezzanine level to obtain samples.

* Operate, position, and use a wide variety of lab equipment.

* Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and have the ability to exchange detailed information.

* Move about in a manufacturing facility to effectively communicate with team members and perform job duties.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The environmental conditions described here are representative of those the associate encounters while performing the Essential Functions of the job.

* The individual will work in laboratory setting and may be exposed to atmospheric conditions, odors, and hazardous materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided.
