JOB OVERVIEW:
This is a first line management position where the employee oversees quality control testing, troubleshoots plant problems and customer complaints, and develops plans for evaluation of new raw materials and product formulations to efficiently produce, store, and transport durable plastic resin cartridges meeting ASTM F-432-95 standards for use with roof support systems for the mining and tunneling industries.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BS in Chemistry Preferred; High School Diploma/GED Required Minimum three-to-five (3-5) Years Supervisory Experience Required or Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience Six-to-Twelve (6-12) Months on The Job Training Preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Possess functional reading/math skills
* Possess intermediate level interpersonal and communication skills to effectively direct lab technician activities
* Possess proficient knowledge of production scheduling, plant operations and quality assurance requirements for product construction and application
* Possess good organizational skills and be a self-motivated individual who can work independently
* Possess multi-tasking skills with ability to prioritize and adapt to changing situations
* Possess basic computer literacy particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Possess quality and safety-oriented mindset
* Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on time
* Possess close visual acuity and upper limb coordination
* Possess ability to sit, stand, or walk as needed
JOB DUTIES:
* Direct, coordinate, and schedule the work of lab technicians performing quality control testing, reporting, and reliability.
* Train and supervise lab technicians as required.
* Maintain lab records and product traceability.
* Troubleshoot plant problems and customer complaints.
* Develop plans for evaluation of new raw materials and product formulations.
* Maintain good morale in the workplace and arrange interchange of ideas on policies and attitudes between workers and senior management.
* Fairly apply conditions of work and handle minor disputes, referring those of a more serious nature to senior management.
* May assist in staffing work roster on the current shift as required.
* May be required to attend off-site corporate supervisory training sessions.
* Perform any other related duties as assigned by executive management.
