Job Location : Syracuse,NY, USA
This role will supervise and manage research projects and activities. This role includes conducting and completing scientific experiments, analyzing data, writing papers, mentoring and training others, and supervising large, complex administrative tasks for the lab.
This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, biology, or physics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Ability to conduct scientific experiments and analyze data.
Responsibilities
* Conduct independent scientific projects, immunofluorescent staining of cells, imaging with microscopy, analyzing data and generating figures and presentations, develop experimental plans, develop protocols/procedures.
* Manage lab processes, lab orders, lab organization, work with custodians, ensure EHS compliance, coordinate meetings/events, autoclaving for lab members, cell culture passage for lab members, equipment maintenance (Mili-Q filter, rheometer, multiple microscopes, biosafety cabinets, Fisher equipment such as -80 and others), obtain equipment quotes.
* Supervise and mentor student research assistants, training new lab members on equipment.
* Develop communications to disseminate information to collaborators, materials transfer agreements, the funding agencies, the physics department administration, lab website, working with libraries to post open-access copies of lab manuscripts, and others.
* Budget oversight, manage, reporting.
