Lab Systems Administrator-Network - PTR Global : Job Details

Job Title: Lab Systems Administrator-Network

Location: Plano, TX 75093 (Onsite)

Duration: 6-months (possible extension or potential for FTE)

Minimum 3 years of experience

Duties

Qualified candidates will be proficient in Advanced Network Administration skills, VMWare, Linux, and Windows administration. You must be self-motivated, articulate and organized. You have a talent for finding and resolving issues before they become larger problems. Prefer candidates with experience in a support or engineering network lab environment. Experience with Spirent Velocity lab automation platform a plus.

Nonnegotiable sills/ experience

• Understanding of MLAG and how it works
• Understanding of Spanning Tree and how it works
• Really have a good understanding of IP Routing.
• Routing Understanding Next Hops
• Understanding of Port Channel creation
• Understanding of MST and PVST

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Equipment Configuration: Set up and configure new network equipment.
• Ticketing: Assist with ticketing and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
• Rack and Stack: Manage hardware installation including rack mounting and cabling.
• Troubleshooting: Address issues related to networking protocols, connectivity, and configurations.

Key Skills

• Networking Savvy: Strong foundational knowledge in networking.
• Understanding of networking protocol/layer.
• Networking Knowledge: understanding of networking protocol/layer.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot networking issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Device Configuration

Nice to Have

• Linux
• Lab Environment: Previous experience working in a lab or similar setup.
• CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is a bonus.

Education: Minium AA degree required
