Lab Team Lead - Crane Pump And Systems : Job Details

BASIC FUNCTION:The Lab Team Lead will support the development of new products and the improvement of existing products by building, servicing, troubleshooting, fabricating and testing pumps, pump systems and their components along with analyzing test results and conducting teardown evaluations. The Lab Team Leader position is responsible for coordinating activities of Lab Technicians by scheduling testing, managing consumable items and troubleshooting issues along with performing their own testing.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:* Schedules testing to be performed in the lab including location of the lab as well as resources to run the testing using ServiceDesk* Manages consumable inventory in the lab* Maintains and updates flash meeting* Ensure 5S standards are adhered to in area* Test pumps and pump components in accordance with the lab schedule; this will include:* Plumb and wire pumps for testing* Operate test equipment* Tabulate/report test results* Fabricating components and fixtures for test* Analyze test results* Tear down and rebuild pumps* Evaluate and troubleshoot pumps while guiding other lab technicians on troubleshooting techniques* Utilize basic MS Office applications* Become champion of work instructions in the lab. Responsible for owning and driving other lab technicians to follow the standard set.* Minimal (less than 5%) travel* Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:* High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 5+ years' experience or 2-year degree in related technical field plus 3+ years' experience* Advanced mechanical/electrical aptitude. Must have prior pump knowledge, advanced pump/electrical troubleshooting skills, and good report writing skills.* Familiarity with pumps and pump systems* Good written and oral communication skills required* Experience with Microsoft Office applications* Lifting up to 25 pounds frequently. Must reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance. These are incorporated in frequent need to lift large plumbing, parts, or pumps.
