Job Type Full-timeDescriptionJOB TITLE: LAB TECHREPORTS TO: PLANT MANAGERJOB PURPOSE/SUMMARYAs a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting daily and hourly analyses of sand samples to ensure they meet our stringent quality standards. You will work closely with other team members to maintain the integrity of our testing processes and provide accurate and timely results.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESSample Preparation and Analysis:

• Conduct hourly and daily testing of frac sand samples to assess quality and consistency.
• Prepare samples for analysis, including weighing, sieving, and mixing as needed.
• Perform tests such as particle size distribution, density, and chemical composition using various laboratory equipment and techniques.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, including sieves, hydrometers, and scales.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment to ensure accurate results and proper functioning.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of the laboratory workspace.

Data Recording and Reporting:

• Record test results accurately in laboratory logs and computer systems.
• Prepare and compile reports on sample analysis, highlighting any deviations from quality standards.
• Communicate test results and potential issues to supervisors and other relevant personnel.

Compliance and Safety:

• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Adhere to company policies and industry regulations regarding laboratory practices and quality control.
• Participate in safety training and maintain awareness of potential hazards in the laboratory.

Continuous Improvement:

• Assist in the development and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols.
• Identify areas for improvement in testing processes and suggest enhancements.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in laboratory technology.

RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous laboratory experience, ideally in a mining or materials testing environment.
• Familiarity with frac sand testing methods and equipment is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in test results.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Salary Description $20 - $23 / hour plus OT
