You will work closely with other team members to maintain the integrity of our testing processes and provide accurate and timely results.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESSample Preparation and Analysis:
- Conduct hourly and daily testing of frac sand samples to assess quality and consistency.
- Prepare samples for analysis, including weighing, sieving, and mixing as needed.
- Perform tests such as particle size distribution, density, and chemical composition using various laboratory equipment and techniques.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, including sieves, hydrometers, and scales.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment to ensure accurate results and proper functioning.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of the laboratory workspace.
Data Recording and Reporting:
- Record test results accurately in laboratory logs and computer systems.
- Prepare and compile reports on sample analysis, highlighting any deviations from quality standards.
- Communicate test results and potential issues to supervisors and other relevant personnel.
Compliance and Safety:
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Adhere to company policies and industry regulations regarding laboratory practices and quality control.
- Participate in safety training and maintain awareness of potential hazards in the laboratory.
Continuous Improvement:
- Assist in the development and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols.
- Identify areas for improvement in testing processes and suggest enhancements.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in laboratory technology.
RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous laboratory experience, ideally in a mining or materials testing environment.
- Familiarity with frac sand testing methods and equipment is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in test results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Salary Description $20 - $23 / hour plus OT
