Actively Screening for Lab Technician to join top client in Social Circle, GA! Job DescriptionAs a Lab Technician, you will undergo several months of comprehensive training in assay testing, site safety, and method training. You will support the On-Demand Laboratory by handling 5-10 samples per day to aid manufacturing, with a turnaround time of 10-12 hours. You will conduct various tests including HPLC, GC, wet chemistry, and eventually ICP mass spec testing for sodium.
Responsibilities- Conduct HPLC testing, GC testing, and wet chemistry tests such as appearance, pH, and density.
- Support a wide range of biological, chemical, or physical analyses on pharmaceutical products, biologics, and drugs.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping and cleaning of glassware and equipment.
- Prepare materials for sterilization and operate equipment preparation and cleaning systems.
- Maintain and stock departmental consumable inventory.
- Perform routine verification and cleaning of temperature-controlled units.
- Set up and disinfect media supplies and equipment needed for testing.
- Sample critical utilities systems such as water, air, and alcohol.
- Conduct non-batch release testing including raw materials and environmental monitoring.
- Assist in filing and archiving departmental data binders, reports, and investigations.
- Retrieve and receive samples into the laboratory, log samples into logbooks, and enter data into LIMS.
- Initiate and pull stability studies and samples.
Essential Skills- 1+ year of experience working in a chemistry lab with chromatography experience.
- Experience working in a GMP environment.
- Proficiency in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and wet chemistry.
- Familiarity with raw material testing, maintenance of assay equipment, and reconciliation of test results.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and in a timely manner.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment including autoclaves, incubators, and analytical equipment.
- Understanding of basic chemical and biological safety procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to approximately 25 lbs.
- Capability to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning and protective clothing.
Work EnvironmentThe position operates on a rotating 2-3-2 day shift from 6AM to 6:30PM, with every other weekend off. On Sundays, the shift is an 8-hour shift starting between 6AM and 8AM. The work environment includes a combination of sedentary work, standing, and walking around the facility. Employees must follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing, which may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
