Description Responsible for operating the can machine to ensure labels are applied to the cans properly.
Ensures the proper labels are placed into the magazine of the labeling machine. Operates the can machine to ensure labels are applied to the cans properly. Requires set up and making some minor adjustments. Inspects cans between the labeling and casing machines and removes mislabeled or damaged containers. Informs the Supervisor or Leadperson of any can container damage. Adds glue to the machine (lap paste and hot pick-up) when necessary. Maintains continuous flow to ensure continuous production. Assists in filling out the necessary paperwork (IC cards, downtime, etc.). Responsible for physically lifting up to 60 pounds. Should not leave assigned line unless given permission by the Supervisor or Leadperson. Reports any mechanical or safety problems to Supervisor or Leadperson immediately. Keeps work area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices (clean floors, equipment, etc.). Adheres to the Company's plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity. Adheres to common safety practices and procedures including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required. Reports any safety issues immediately to Supervisor. Responsible for the execution of food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Leadperson.
