$50K Sign on Bonus (payable over 2 yrs.) for qualified external candidates with a minimum of 1 yr. of L & D experience.
Required: RN License to practice in the State of Connecticut. Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR), Labor & Delivery - NRP, ACLS, EFM,
Responsibilities:
1. Completes the Admission assessment of the patient providing a clear picture of his/her status.
2. Follows the 5 Rights of Medication Administration, verbalizing to patients/family/significant other the medication they are receiving.
3. Assesses patients for potential safety risks upon admission; Adheres to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient safety.
4. Assesses learning needs of patient/family/significant other; Plans and provides appropriate instruction using applicable teaching methods.
5. Applies the 5 rights of delegation; Coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care, including the delegation of tasks.
6. Promotes a positive work environment through personal example and teamwork.
7. Adheres to Nursing Standards of Practice to include assessment, care planning, interventions and evaluation of the plan of care; Practices according to unit-based standards. (see unit specific competencies)

Education: ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE
