Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist II, the Pharmacy Technician performs basic services in a pharmacy and technical duties which do not require licensure. The Pharmacy Technician assists in maintaining pharmacy operations and assists the pharmacists in preparing prescriptions and maintains records and inventories of drugs, poisons, and narcotics in accordance with Department policies and federal and State laws and regulations. May work around inmates of a correctional facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

EITHER I

Six months of experience in laboratory work similar to that described in Definition of Levels above.

OR II

Education: Equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.

OR III

Satisfactory completion of a formalized laboratory work experience and training program of at least three months' duration, such as those conducted under Job Training Partnership Act, or similar work experience programs conducted by State agencies.

* The position(s) require(s) a(n) CA (CPT) Phlebotomy License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
