Our Center of Excellence in Lowell, AR is looking for a Laboratory Assistant, who is eager to support our mission of creating a safer, more secure, and sustainable place to live, work, and play.
What does a Laboratory Assistant do?
* Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.
* Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.
* Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
* Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
* As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.
* Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.
* Records and explains test results.
* Reads and interprets results of tests.
* Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.
* Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.
* Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
* As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.
* Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
* Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
* Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.
* Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
* Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.
* Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
* Reads and follows the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
* Performs other duties as directed.
