Position Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Director to join our team in Scottsdale, Arizona! The Laboratory Director will provide leadership for the technical operations of the Laboratory and have full P&L responsibility for the business. Applicants who reside in the immediate Scottsdale, AZ region will be preferred. To be considered, an applicant must have at least three (3) years of experience leading laboratory operations.

Salary:
The anticipated salary range for this full-time exempt position will be a pre-tax amount of $4,230.76 to $5,000 per pay period (the equivalent of up to $110,000 to $130,000 annually), final starting salary to be determined by the hiring manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the overall success of the laboratory operations including; revenue & profit growth, budgeting, cost control, capital expense, managing staff, addressing client needs and process improvement.
* Ensure compliance with the requirements of customers, legal and regulatory bodies, and quality management standards to which the company has subscribed.
* Oversee the analytical laboratory staff through management and evaluation of quality control, technical development and production performance.
* Drive the continuous improvement of the quality management system.
* Assess laboratory performance through key performance indicators and metrics including; turn around time, on-time delivery, lab supplies and labor costs.
* Build a culture that promotes the company vision through a positive work environment that is focused on service, efficiency, innovation and quality.
* Develop the local strategy to grow the business and expand market leadership in collaboration with the sales and marketing team.
* Coordinate with the customer service team to proactively respond to customer complaints and inquiries.
* Determines technical training needs of laboratory personnel.
* Assessment of future needs, budget, projected instrument capacity, and other strategic planning needed to meet long-term goals.
* Approves supplies and vendors as necessary, for the effective and efficient operation of the laboratory.
* Ensure that all health & safety and environmental programs are followed and documentation is maintained.
Qualifications:
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Must have at least three (3) years of experience leading laboratory operations.
* Must possess the ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive working relationships with supervisors, staff, managers, customers, and suppliers.
* Technical competence in analytical chemistry and microbiology.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
* Possess the ability to provide excellent service to external and internal customers.
* Familiarity with computer databases (both Google and Microsoft Office applications).
Education:
Doctorate in the chemical or biological sciences and a minimum of three (3) years post-degree accredited laboratory experience,
- or -
Master's degree in the chemical or biological sciences and a minimum of five (5) years of post-degree accredited laboratory experience,
- or -
a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the chemical or biological sciences and seven (7) years of post-education accredited laboratory experience.
