Our client, a leading research laboratory in the coal industry, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the physical preparation and processing of coal and coke samples. You will be part of the laboratory team supporting the research and development of new coal technologies. The ideal candidate will be safe, hardworking, competent, and very dependable.

**Location: South Park, PA**
**Pay Range: $17-24/hr DOE**
**What's the Job?**
+ **This is a labor intensive position, not a traditional Lab Tech role. Prior labor/manufacturing experience is a match.**
+ Receive and verify the identity of samples and report any problems to the supervisor
+ Prepare the gross samples for drying or other testing
+ Dry the samples using laboratory moisture ovens
+ Crush the gross samples using pulverization equipment
+ Mix and blend the samples using a blender
+ Perform moisture testing
+ Perform Sieve testing of samples
+ Assist with carbonization testing (MWO, SHO, CSR)
+ Store and maintain reserve samples
+ Clean and organize the work area(s)
+ The technician may be required to perform other duties according to work instructions
**What's Needed?**
+ Candidate must be safe, hardworking, competent, and very dependable
+ Individual should be able to learn quickly and follow work instructions
+ Must be able to organize and pay close attention to details
+ Must be able to work independently and unsupervised
+ Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work for extended periods on their feet
+ A valid PA driver's license and dependable transportation is required
+ High School diploma required
+ Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening
+ Must be able to pass a background check
+ Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times; safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, steel toe boots. All provided with exception of steel toe boots.
