Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Laboratory Manager to oversee operations in a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in clinical laboratory practices. This role involves managing laboratory analysis, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory analysis on received specimens, delivering critical clinical information for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
- Uphold quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of all technical duties.
- Prepare reagents, manage inventory, and maintain an adequate supply of materials to optimize operational efficiency and minimize waste.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test systems in collaboration with specialists or service technicians as necessary.
- Maintain clear, real-time communication across shifts and with leadership to address concerns affecting patient care or departmental operations.
- Participate in the review and revision of policies and procedures to meet accreditation standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., CAP, TJC, OSHA).
- Contribute to competency assessment programs and staff development initiatives.
- Support planning and implementation of changes through participation in meetings, task forces, and special projects.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to biohazardous materials and other occupational hazards.
- Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting light to moderately heavy loads (20-50 lbs).
Qualifications:
- Must be an ASCP-registered Medical Technologist or hold an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement corrective actions effectively.
- Proficiency in documentation, quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory standards.

- Expertise in laboratory procedures and patient care.

- Proficiency in maintaining documentation and managing inventory systems.
- Adaptability to work in a high-pressure environment with biohazardous materials.
Additional Information:
- This position requires the candidate to either live within 45 minutes of the facility or be willing to relocate to the area.
- Interviews will be conducted both virtually and onsite.
