We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing a full-service laboratory within a comprehensive cancer center. Under the oversight of the Laboratory Director, the laboratory supervisor is responsible for testing, interacting with physicians (providers), overseeing all other aspects of the operation such as personnel, equipment installation and maintenance, material and quality management.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Quality improvement and quality control activities for all workstations, including reviewing the accuracy and timeliness of reports.
• Maintaining good communications with Medical and Nursing staff;
• Investigating/resolving problems in an efficient and timely manner.
• Reviewing policies and procedures manual for compliance with the requirements of regulatory agencies;
• Recommending/implementing changes by changes in regulatory agency policies

We require:

• BA or BS degree in laboratory science plus completion of medical laboratory technologist training program required.
• 4 Years of pertinent laboratory experience
• Ability to problem solve in a complex environment
• NYS Licensure
• Proficiency in blood group serology.
• Good communication skills.
• Computer literacy, knowledge of Hemocare and MS Office preferred.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
