Job Title: Laboratory Technician - I Duration: 13 Month Contract (Possibility of extension)Location: 100% onsite role. - 2415 Ponderosa, Suites A B, Lawrence, KS 66046Hours: We would prefer the lab technician to work 40 hrs a week (day shift – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm M-F) but can accommodate flex shifts down to 30 hrs/week – (e.g. the same day shift but T-F (Mondays off) or day shift with as few as 6 hrs/day (9:00 am to 3:00 pm M-F) to allow candidates that have other responsibilities the ability to apply.Job description:Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Prior laboratory experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work within a team environment.

• Motivated to work independently Physical requirement: Able to lift 25 lbs, require prolonged standing and manual labor work.

• Performs basic preparatory procedures on feed samples containing pharmaceutical ingredients according to FDA cGMP requirements.
• Performs sample preparation on fecal samples for parasite egg counts, and serum samples for ELISA.
• Prepares laboratory reagents and solutions according to analytical methodology or standard operating procedures (SOP).

• Describe briefly the major activities of the position. Indicate the approximate percentage of time spent on each activity
• 75% Prepares fecal samples and grinds feed mill samples as part of routine testing programs.
• 15% Glassware cleaning and other general housekeeping duties.
• 5% Maintains complete and accurate documentation for all work performed.
• 5% Performs other tasks as requested by management.
