Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will perform routine analytical and laboratory testing to support food safety, quality, and operational teams. This role requires a motivated individual responsible for conducting product testing, monitoring instrumentation performance, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance food safety, quality, and regulatory practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine analysis and testing of products to ensure food/feed safety and quality.
- Check and monitor instrumentation performance, run calibration checks, and perform preventive maintenance tasks, including simple repairs.
- Document and interpret test results, entering data into databases and communicating findings to internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with food safety programs and regulations, monitoring adherence to established safety standards.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process, and final products.
- Support complex trials and experiments with guidance under intermediate supervision.
- Maintain and update customer specification books and ensure all test procedures meet quality standards.
- Handle clerical and technical support tasks, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Interpret and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and maintain accurate correspondence records.
Education Requirements:
- Required: Associate Degree in a Science-related field or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Associate Degree in a Science field with a foundational understanding of basic science and analytical techniques.
