Position: Laborer - Groundskeeper

Pay Grade: MT-1

Duty Days: 240

Salary: $14.00 (minimum)

Qualifications:

* Valid Texas Driver's License preferred.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

* Pick up trash and clean grounds.

* Edge and mow all areas.

* Hoe, prune, weed and water grounds.

* Empty outside trash barrels.

* Load and unload all tractors and associated equipment.

* Aerate and fertilize football fields, practice fields and baseball fields and any other play areas.

* Plant shrubs, trees and grass as directed.

* Maintain proper drainage on all campuses.

* Drive a tractor.

* Complete paper work orders accurately.

* Dress according to the department dress code.

* Assist other personnel as needed.

* Perform all other duties assigned.

* Report to Coordinator of Grounds.

Work Conditions:

* Maintain emotional control under stress.

* Moderate irregular hours.

* Works with frequent interruptions.

* Preparation of materials may involve the packing, moving and lifting of equipment and supplies.

* Continuous walking and standing.

* Work outside and inside; exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical and chemical hazards.

* Work around moving objects and vehicles.

Customer Service - Demonstrates concern for meeting internal and external customer needs and in a manner that provides customer satisfaction within the available resources.
