LABORER - Spherion Staffing Services : Job Details

Spherion is seeking Laborer for a packaging & distribution facility in the Opelousas area.Hourly Pay Rate:$15***This company offers a full benefit package including medical, dental, vision, 401k,and annual paid leave once you are hired on.Shift: 8a-6:30pM-Th; Sometimes it requested for the operators to work 7-7pm.Dress Code: jeans and long sleeve shirt.We provide rubber boots and all other PPE.Responsibilities:Responsibilities:- Rotating between two tasks: Filling 50 lbs. bags with non-hazardous pellets or powder using a weighing machine/scale AND catching the bags of product from a conveyor and palletizing them.- Shrink wrap the completed pallet of product. - Maintain efficient operations.- Maintain product quality by adhering to company standards.- Follow all requirements regarding worker and plant safety and report any unsafe conditions.- Alert supervisor if production equipment is in need of repair.- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.- Comply with regulations relating to product quality, labeling, usage and SDSs- Work around chemicals;- Wear all required PPE;- Maintain good working relationships with peers and supervisors.Working hours: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PMSkills:Ability to kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, push, pull throughout an entire shiftHave a good working knowledge of packaging plant equipmentHave the ability to apply safety management systemsEducation:High SchoolExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:Effective team playerResults orientatedAbility to adjust as priorities changeHigh School or GED equivalentAbility to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workdayColor Vision (able to identify and distinguish colors)Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)Peripheral Vision (able to observe areas that can be seen up and down, or to the left and right, while eyes are fixed on a given point)Depth Perception (able to judge distances and spatial relationships)Focusing (able to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)Withstand noise level: Loud Noise (e.g. metal can manufacturing, large earth-moving equipment)Apply at www.spherion.comSpherion has helped thousands of people just like you find work happiness!
