Laborer - 1-Tom-Plumber Columbus : Job Details

We are looking for hard-working, reliable, and safety-minded individuals to join our team as a Laborer. In this role, you will be responsible for buying and sorting all inbound non-ferrous materials; loading and unloading, processing, and disassembly of various types of scrap metal; yard cleanup andmaintenance; and other general physical labor duties to ensure the highest quality of scrap material is processed and shipped to our customers in a safe, effective manner.This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.Working hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 8:00 am to noon.SA Recycling offers:Competitive PayEligible for Safety and Profitability BonusesComprehensive benefits including affordable medical options, dental, and vision care401k with a Company MatchWeekly PayReferral IncentivesCompany provided uniforms and PPEResponsibilities of a Laborer:Accurately identify, grade, sort, weigh, and prep non-ferrous materials as they are purchased.Document scrap material and supplier information into the ticketing system.Provide suppliers with an accurate receipt of scrap materials delivered.Complete and submit all required reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.Operate small equipment such as a forklift, with the potential to operate larger industrial equipment.Perform daily inspections on equipment, reporting any defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.General cleanup and yard maintenance including but not limited to digging, sweeping, and maintaining weeds and brush.Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.Qualifications of Laborer:High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.1-year previous general labor in the scrap metal or construction industries preferred.Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.Basic math and computer skills.Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.PLEASE NOTE: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
