What you'll do as a Laborer Telecom Aerial You will be the ground hand for technicians, provide parts as needed, move bucket truck as directed by technician. You will ensure that door-tagging and resident notification of our construction activities has been completed prior to starting each workday. You will ensure daily inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment is performed and documented. If appropriately licensed, drive company vehicles as needed to jobsite. What you'll need To be 18 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company Valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or Class A Commercial Driver's License 0-1 or more years of unskilled labor experience, in telecommunications is a plus. You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance Knowledge of Installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications (NEC Electrical Code, System and/or City Specifications). You may be a certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber. Additional qualifications Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening. Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed. May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed May include working nights and holidays as needed. Physical abilities & exposures Routinely: Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift. Occasionally: Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
