Job Description :

Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring a Land Survey Technician with an engineering client in Garland, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying techniques, exceptional CAD skills, and expertise in various software applications related to land surveying. This role primarily involves supporting office operations, assisting field personnel, and contributing to the production of high-quality surveying products.

Responsibilities:

  • CAD Proficiency: Extensive experience in AutoCAD with the ability to produce accurate and precise drawings.
  • Software Expertise: Proficient in Carlson Software for Surveying, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center (TBC) Software.
  • Field Support: Ability to work with Trimble and Leica field collection controllers to aid field personnel effectively.
  • Land Title Understanding: Familiarity with land title principles or open to learning in this domain to ensure accurate surveying practices.
  • LiDAR Data Manipulation: Experience in handling LiDAR data using Trimble TBC and Leica Cyclone software.
  • GNSS Analysis: Understanding of GNSS and capable of analyzing GPS vectors' quality within TBC.
  • Measurement Science: Knowledgeable in the science of measurement and experienced in utilizing Least Squares to analyze both conventional and GNSS survey data.
  • Technical Expertise: Minimum of two (2) years of field experience and at least five (5) years of technical experience in producing surveying products for publication or use by engineers/architects.
  • Communication Skills: Strong command of the English language to compose comprehensive survey reports. Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory. Professional-level reading and writing skills to effectively interact with other professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Carlson Software, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center (TBC).
  • Extensive knowledge of land surveying principles and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Continuous learning mindset with the ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
