POSITION SUMMARY:
Part-Time 1:30pm-9:30pm
The duties of the Laundry Aide shall be to ensure facility linen and residents' personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed and/or stored according to facility policy. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Role Responsibilities – Job Knowledge/Duties:
Carries out and follows all facility policies and procedures
Acts appropriately under the direction of the Housekeeping Director and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team
Handles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelines
Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment
Washes, dries, folds and hangs all laundry neatly and properly
Identifies personal laundry with resident's name and re-marks personal clothing items, if needed
Returns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areas
Completes all daily assignments to the satisfaction of the supervisor
Keeps work area clean and neat and performs cleaning assignments as scheduled or directed
Works in cooperation with all other employees of the facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staff
Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions
Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Director
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Possess a high school diploma or sufficient knowledge and education to perform job functions
Understands and carries out oral and written directions
Is capable of setting work priorities and working independently in the absence of supervision
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
