GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:To provide clean linens and related items to patients, staff and user departments.

- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Exercising appropriate age-specific communication skills when interacting with customers, patients, and families (i.e. courtesy, smiling).
- Exercising appropriate age-specific safety practices when interacting with customers, patients, and families (i.e. lock up cleaning cart to prevent children from accessing any chemicals.)
- Performs linen processing that includes segregating soiled linen by types, load and unload, wash, dry, fold, iron and press linens.
- Loads and unloads linens from laundry carts
- Cleans working equipment, work areas and department restrooms.
- Prepares and delivers clean linen carts to user departments. Keeps record
- Picks up linen carts and replenishes needed linen items Keeps records.
- Picks up and handles soiled linens
- Maintains linen shelves in a neat and orderly manner.
- Replenishes supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissues, hand soap.
- Reports needed repairs and safety hazards.
- Ability to adjust schedule to meet department needs and changes.
- Handles regular wastes, infectious wastes and recycled wastes
- Adheres to infection control guidelines.
- Performs all STAT requests without delay.
- Demonstrates good knowledge of the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Adheres to hospital and department attendance guidelines
- Adheres to hospital and department health and educational requirements. Attends department meetings and inservices.
- Demonstrates good knowledge of Safety Plan, Fire Plan, Disaster Plan and other codes.
- Communicates with supervisor(s) on areas that need clarification or guidance.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
