Job Title: Laundry AttendantDepartment: Hotel Operations-Player's InnReports To: Housekeeping ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptStarting Rate: $15.02 per hourLicense: Work PermitClosing Date: Open Until FilledJOB SUMMARY: The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel with a high level of quality in accordance to hotel standards. The ideal candidate will specifically be responsible for performing all stages of linen processing including, but not limited to; collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading and unloading (washers, dryers and chutes), ironing, folding, storing and delivering. Will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of laundry machinery and laundry area, maintaining stock levels, as well as perform additional laundry services as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Greets and welcomes customers with a smile, and takes pride in being an Akwesasne Mohawk Casino team member.
  • Pre-treats laundry for stains
  • Loads and unloads washers and dryer, operates machines and records poundage amounts and amounts washed and dried
  • Sorts all soiled linen, weighs and loads into appropriate carts machines
  • Folds towels either by hand or towel folder , irons table linens, irons and folds sheets, folds pillow cases, blankets, bed pads, draw sheets, herbal wraps etc.
  • Sorts and separates damaged or stained linen, i.e. to be repaired or used as rags.
  • Observes and adheres to Akwesasne Mohawk Casino safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe environment.
  • Cleans lint trap from dryers daily; checks and cleans drains as necessary,
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required.
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of cleaning tools, laundry chemicals, cleaners and disinfectants and responsible for programming and logging of the operation.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning products and safely operate equipment,
  • Ability to follow and understand written instruction.
  • Ability to work with timeliness and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work and finish multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand at a fixed work station for long periods of time, bend stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and balance. The associate must occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino/hotel environment and effectively deal with customers, management, associates and members of the business community in all situations. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to; toxic chemicals, and airborne particles; this position exists within a Hotel environment. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming work permit which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
