Summary of PositionThe laundry attendant manages the finishing processes for all laundry materials including towel folding, pressing, finish folding and hand folding.Supervision ExercisedNoneSupervision ReceivedReports to Laundry ManagerReceives daily direction from Laundry Supervisor, Club Housekeeping Manager, Club Housekeeping SupervisorKnowledge and SkillsThe laundry attendant must have conversational English language skills and must be able to read and understand machine operator screens in English.The attendant must be able to operate folding and pressing equipment.The attendant must be able to distinguish between terry and linen product from all campus entities. The attendantmust be able to accurately load carts for transport to the hotel, Club and Trellis Spa. The attendant must be able to work effectively with others on a team. Education and Work ExperienceHigh School Education is preferred but not required.Prior experience in a commercial laundry or housekeeping environment is helpful.Tasks / ResponsibilitiesAttendant is respectful and cooperative with team members. Attendant is knowledgeable about finishing processes for club towels, pool towels, room linens, room terry, Spa linens and food and beverage linens. Attendant operates towel folding equipment and makes finish folds on all terry items. Attendant operates both sides of the pressing equipment, both feeding linens in to be pressed and receiving pressed linen to be finish folded and loaded into carts for transport. Attendant must fold articles of clothing from locker room bags and ensure that items are accurately returned. Attendant must maintain work areas so as to provide a clean and sanitary environment for processed linens.Work EnvironmentTo perform the duties of this position successfully, an employee is required to executethe essential functions of the job.Reasonable accommodations may be made toenable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Employees in this position will be required to work in a fast-paced laundryenvironment, where there is typically a loud noise level, work is performed in extreme temperatures, and floors surfaces may be slick.Physical RequirementsMust be able to walk, stand and bend for long periods of time. The hours of work varies upon business. Must be able to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs and frequently push carts that weigh up to 350 lbs.
