Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares facility laundry according to established procedures.
- Operates commercial washing machines and dryers.
- Maintains laundry room in a clean, sanitary and safe condition at all times. Will be required to sweep and mop the laundry at least daily.
- Maintains performance of duties in compliance with Departmental Policies and Procedures, Administrative Policies and Title 22.
- Communicates with residents, visitors and staff.
- Attends in-service training classes as scheduled and utilizes information learned when performing duties.
- Cleans and stocks linen carts and linen closets with pre-determined quantities of linen.
- Performs laundry functions as needed on a regular basis, which includes sorting and processing soiled linens, washing, drying, folding, mending and stocking facility and resident linens according to Departmental policies.
- Transports clean and soiled linen to and from the Laundry.
- Assists with the effective and efficient operation of the facility and participates in relevant activities.

- Functions under intense time pressure.
- Performs any other relative, relevant duties as assigned.
Rate and Shift Information: Rate: $17.00 per hour Shift: Part-Time; 4:00 pm - 9:30 pm Minimum Requirements:
- Able to communicate at a basic level orally and in writing in English
- Must be able to read and interpret numbers.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents.
- Ability to add and subtract for inventory and linen stocking purposes.
- Must be able to pace work in order to meet deadlines. Will be expected to work safely and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Must possess the ability to remember individual resident preferences and expectations, with regard to their laundry service, and act accordingly.
- Must be able to determine and judge quality of linen and laundry service. Will be required to process linen according to fabric content, weight and color.
- For full duration of shift, stands, walks, stoops, bends, reaches above shoulder and head height and extends arms. Fine manual dexterity required. Frequently pushes and pulls carts and equipment, on mostly level surfaces, which weigh up to 100 lbs. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. Job requires sharp visual acuity.
