Laundry Attendant - TRH - Bleckley Memorial Hospital : Job Details

Position Description Perform laundering of soiled hospital linens using CDC Guidelines for aseptic laundering standards, organization Covid-19 Laundering Policy, DNV Regulations. Job Duties: Utilize training and experience to perform a wide range of functionswithin the healthcare setting included, but are not limited to:

• Collecting soiled linens from hospital departments by using the proper transport containers
• Sorting linens
• Pre-Soaking linens
• Washing linens
• Drying linens
• Folding linens
• Delivering clean linens to hospital departments
• Preparing clean, laundered linens for Laundry truck pick-up

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions
• Ability to learn new tasks related to environmental services laundry
• Participates in Infection Prevention Program Activities
• Participates in annual training
• Maintains all required daily laundry operations logs in a timely manner

Continual cleaning of the laundry department to include:

• Wiping with disinfectant all counters
• High dusting cobwebs off of ceilings and vents
• Dusting on top of all laundry equipment
• Wipe all equipment
• Pull trash
• Sweep & mop floor

Education: High school diploma or GED.Training/Experience: Previous experience in commercial laundry is preferred.Skills/Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of commercial laundry operations
• Knowledge of the operation of commercial washers, dryers is preferred
