Job Class: Laundry Worker 1 (LW1) Location: Chehalis, WA Closes: Monday, September 16, 2024 Salary: $2,889.00 - $3,811.00 Monthly The Opportunity: We're looking for a Laundry Worker 1 to join our team at Green Hill School to help make sure laundry is properly cleaned, sorted, and distributed. As a Laundry Worker, you will come to work every day knowing that the work you do is making a difference for the youth in our care. Some of what you will do:
  • Operate washing machines, extractors, and presses
  • Prepare bleaching, starching, bluing, and sterilizing solutions
  • Add starches, bleaches, and disinfectants
  • Receive, count, mark, sort, fold, bundle, and tie laundry
  • Arrange for distribution of laundry
  • Oil, clean, and make adjustments and minor repairs to laundry equipment
  • Make minor repairs to clothing, apply logos, measure and distribute resident clothing
  • Operates automotive equipment to transport materials and supplies
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle independently.
  • Experience in washroom operations and the ability to read and write English.
In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
  • Ability to operate washing machines, extractors, and presses; follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of the use of bleaches, soaps, and starches.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management, peers, clients, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position.
