Law Clerk - West Coast Trial Lawyers : Job Details

West Coast Trial Lawyers, a downtown Los Angeles law firm, is seeking bright and motivated individuals to join our team as law clerks. We have openings in both our Employment and Personal Injury Litigation departments. These are not hybrid roles; law clerks will work exclusively in one department.

We are open to immediate hires, as well as candidates interested in summer law clerkships. There is also potential for hiring a law clerk now with an opportunity to extend their role into a summer clerkship!

Responsibilities:

Depending on the department, law clerks will be involved in:

• Handling personal injury or employment law matters
• Drafting notices, motions, objections, and memorandums
• Summarizing, analyzing, and/or propounding discovery
• Drafting correspondence
• Interacting with clients
• Attending client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials
• Preparing trial binders as necessary
• Conducting legal research

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience drafting and responding to discovery
• Experience drafting substantive motions and pleadings
• Spanish fluency
• Experience working at a personal injury or employment law firm

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent legal writing skills
• Strong legal research skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Well-organized and detail-oriented
• Reliable and punctual
